• LC Virtual Academy

The LCVA program is popular with high school students who desire a flexible school schedule. This includes students who are employed, students with special medical needs, students who are experiencing social challenges at their current schools, and students who wish to accelerate their graduation. Enrollment is open before the beginning of each new academic semester and is a semester-long commitment.

LC Virtual Academy has partnered with EdgenuityⓇ, a Web-based curriculum, to enhance your child's educational experience. Students in grades 7-12 will be assigned an LCVA teacher(s) who will monitor student progress, be available for academic support, and communicate with students and parents.

The program is self-paced with automatic due dates to ensure student success--students are responsible for their work and assignments to meet the pacing requirements. When needed, LCVA will have lab hours for middle and high school (7-12) students to receive content help. Upon request by the virtual teachers, students may meet virtually or in-person with their teachers. Teachers will answer all questions/emails and phone calls within 24 business hours.

Virtual learning allows students to establish their weekly schedule(s) and time(s) when schoolwork is completed. To be in good standing in the LCVA, students must maintain daily attendance and adequate weekly progress. Student attendance will be recorded every day through Edgenuity log-ins. For the 2023-2024 school year, adequate weekly progress is defined as "On Target" in all courses on Sunday at 11:59 pm OR work 10 hours AND complete 35 activities each Monday-Sunday calendar week.
